Aadarana

Aadarana was Shri. Dhamma Mitra’s Madhava rao’s Childhood Dream which came to reality in 2003. Established with a motto to help the orphans by providing them accommodation, education, knowledge under one roof above and beyond the love and affection of the parents, which they lost.

Aanand Krishnasramam

The old age home has been shifted temporarily from Kukatpally to Ashok Nagar since construction work is going on at this place.

Akshara

Akshara sees itself as a leading contributor in accelerating the pace of professionalism in the development (livelihoods) sector. Akshara's mission is to Promote, Support and Sustain availability of cost-effective and reliable quality development (livelihoods) support, including development (livelihoods) of human resources.

Akshara was born on the 2nd of October 1998 when five development colleagues (Muralidhar, Prakash, Narsi Reddy, Ashok and Dayakar) got together and signed the articles.

Amma Foundation

Amma foundation is an Indian NGO working towards restoring basic rights of survival to children at the budding stage to give them a better future.

Mission

Mission is to provide food shelter to the destitute and deprived, education for wisdom to children, moral support to physically and mentally challenged and health care to the poor.

Strength: 
Presently it has 36 people ranging from KG-PG which included 2 blind children. Most of them range from 4th-7th standard. All the children are either orphans or have a single living parent. They go to a near by school and colleges. There is enough support for them from the donors and there is no government support. The expenses per month is Rs 40,000 excluding education fee. Education fee is directly paid by the donors. They do not follow any nutrition habits.
Requirements: 

They currently have 2 rooms and an office room which can accomodate 36 people. The rent is Rs 9000 per month. They don't have water filters. They have asked for buckets, food materials and other daily usables like soaps, tooth paste etc. As of now they don't seem to be facing any major problems in looking after the current strength. They want to increase the strength, but they don't have a land to accomodate them.

Anand Aashram

It was started by Mrs. Prema Vishwanath. She has been running this place for the past 16years and for the past 9 years its located in Musheerabad.

Inspiration:

After seeing the condition of an old man who’s son had left him on road and gave him a bread and Rs. 10 everyday, the lady took VRS from the bank and took such old people to her house.

One doctor is doing the service of medical checkup voluntarily.

Requirements: 

1. The place is to congested and they are paying Rs. 13000 as rent for each flat, so they need a more bigger flat at the same cost. The current flat has 3 bedrooms with attached bathroom.

2. Accept anything from rice, dal, groceries, cosmetics to old clothes.

Ananda Marga Children's Home

Anand Marga is an old organization which was established in 1968. Its a world wide organization and is established in around 180 countries. It is a spiritual organization. In Hyderabad, it has a school and an ashram.

Strength: 
Ashram accomodates 16 children from 1st to 7th standard of which 6-8 are orphans and the remaining are semi orphans.
Requirements: 

There is no government funding for it. It is supported by the donors who are the followers of Ananda Marga known as Anand Margis. There are around 30 Anand Margis all around Hyderabad. Spirituality is strictly followed here. They faced problems with funding in the past. They accept donations in the form of money.

Annapurna Vruddhasramam

Origin

Two people, brother and sister started it with brother taking the initiative to reconcile their father’s death. Its five years since they started it. Early in their way, they have spent every penny from their pocket. After a while, the localites, people living in those surroundings came forward and supported them with their basic needs like food and clothing on non-regular basis. Few people recently have advised them to get registered so that they can be funded better by few organizations.

BBS Devnar School For The Blind

‘Devnar’ is a combination of two words DEV (God) and NAR (Man), highlighting the fact that there is God in every man. If the entire humanity is the family of God, the visually challenged children are special members in the family, and hence they should be given every possible opportunity to develop the hidden potentialities and latent talents inherent in them.

Strength: 
315 students in school out of which 280 stay in the hostel
Requirements: 
  • Identifying the blind children and sending them to our Institute.
  • Help in placement or provide job opportunities for the students.
  • Sponsor a child by donating Rs.6,000/- per one academic year individually or collectively
  • Donate Rs.60,000/- for construction of a room (name of the donor will be displayed on the wall at the entrance of the room)
  • Spend some time with the children (story telling, helping in games, teaching music, recording cassettes, helping with the computers).
  • Celebrate birthdays, wedding anniversaries or festivals with the school children by donating Rs.2,500/- for vegetarian and Rs.3,000/- for non-vegetarian meals.

Chandra Rajeshwara Old Age Home

Chandra Rajeshwara Old Age Home is funded by CR foundation.

People pay 50% of their expenditure since they are all educated and stay there for convenience rather than out of necessity. A few are funded by the foundation itself.

Advanced deposits (Rs.10,000) are taken from the old people when they join and in case someone wants to adopt a person it costs Rs.25,000 per annum.

Criteria of selection

Selected for stay on the basis of the social work they have done (like participation in freedom struggle and other social actvities).

Chavadi Child Welfare Society

Origin:

With a humble intention of helping out the poor and orphans by providing them food, clothing, shelter and education, “Chavadi Child Welfare Society” was formed by 25 members on 23th June, 2005 and was officially inaugurated at presence of Press Club, Somajiguda, Hyderabad.

How do they admit kids:

  • Through personal contacts.
  • Through their ads in newspapers.

Children go to Nagarjuna School, Durga, Hyderabad (English Medium). TCCWS aims at making every kid self-sustainable and be able to support himself.

Strength: 
30 kids Youngest child is in 2nd Standard Oldest Child is in 10th Standard.

They accept old clothes, books,groceries, money.
